One approach to explaining the meaning of them is presented below.

It is just a stub and I put it here hoping that somebody will point out the mistakes I've made.

You've lived your whole life just to realize that all you've done was in vain.

There is nothing left to do, but the reason may surprise you: there's no will in you to do anything. All you can think about is empty, void, worth nothing. Just stumble. You became empty many years ago. As the years passed you have slowly been falling into the deep hole of addiction and irresponsibility. Your constant excuse was the drugs you've been taking all this time, that they are destroing your mind, memory, bla, bla.
