Various opinions have been expressed when it comes to the issue of how people dress is a good indication of learning the personality of a person, Some people agree that this is a good way to evaluate (observe) other's characteristics. On the other hand, others assert that it is not a good idea to judge others by their appearance, yet my personal experience leads me to believe that how people dress indeed is a good way to show his or hers personality, and there are two reasons offered in support of my point of view. Firstly, how a person dress reflects their personalities and decides how others feel when they see you. Some people like to wear casual clothes, such as T-shirt and jeans, while others prefer to wear some fancy clothes all the time and make themselves look like a model or a super star. Take my roommate as an example, Shelly is a girl who doesn’t spend too much time on dressing, but she always make herself looks easygoing ,clean and neat. Although people focus less on her look, everyone feel close and comfortable when getting together with her. On the other hand, Sandy likes to focus on her look. She gets up early every day in order to pick up the clothes to wear and put some makeup that fits her clothes. Also, she cares a lot about how others judge her. She likes to be noticed and be praised, but she is also sensitive to people's criticisms. Therefore, people feel unease beside her. Secondly, because people have the tendency to judge others at the first sight, how people dress will deeply influence others’ first impression. Thus, a person's attair (attire) shows what kinds of awareness that the dresser wants others to pay attention to. In other words, those who don't care about others' judgement or don't want to be known are tend to spend less time on making their own dressing style, and people who wants to impress every people they meet are willing to show their own taste and present their personality on their appearance. For instance, most of the celebrities like to dress differently from how ordinary people look like so that they can draw more attention from the public and people may remember and recognize them. Of course, some people may disagree with my statements because we all believe that appearance is not everything. However, with those concrete reasons, I believe how people dress is one of the good ways to understand a person’s personality.
