Good morning/afternoon/evening/

In this essay, I was proposed to write about the expression Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I had to explain what does it mean for me and If I agree with it.

Thank you in advance!

Throughout history, what is defined as beauty constantly changes but beauty, the concept itself, has always existed. From ancient times when the standard of beauty was to be pudgy, until now, with a culture around exercising and plastic surgeries is quite interesting to see how it has evolved. However, does that really matters? Is beauty a well-established concept or more of a relative one?

The saying Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder in a certain way answers those questions. This saying means that what might be regarded as the representation of beauty for one person may not be the same for another one. It means there is no definition possible to what beauty is because, as different human beings, each individual has its own perception about it. Besides, what is stated as beauty, actually, comes down to personal opinion and taste rather than a reasonable statement.

Personally, I couldn't agree more with this statement. Everybody has had an occasion where they perceived someone as beautiful but when shared that opinion with their peers the reaction was not alike. This shows us how to rate someone as good-looking is more about you than whether that man or woman matches up to a yardstick.

All things considered, something to take away from these lines is that there is nothing wrong with you if you don't meet the media's standards or others' expectations about how you should look. Because, for one, the most important person you have to impress is yourself and two, society doesn't actually know what beauty is, and less does the media.
