When introducing myself to Anglish speaking people, I find that they ignore where Algeria is situated, and they sometimes confound it with Nigeria. So what is essential to know about Algeria?

It is the biggest country in Africa, situated in the North on the Mediterranean Sea between Morocco and Tunisia. The official languages are Arabic and Berber, however, French is widely used in Medicine, teaching, administration, commerce and banking sectors, and many people speak it like natives.

The weather is different according to the three main regions: the North is warm, the High Lands are extremely cold in winter and very hot in summer. The desert or Sahara is warm in winter and extremely hot in summer. This difference is due to the variety of the relief and the vegetation of each region that offer unique landscapes.

Algerian people are hospitable who like inviting others to visit the country and discover its beauty and wonderfulness.
