The first car appeared on British roads in 1888. By the year 2000 there may be as many as 29 million vehicles on British roads.
Alternative forms of transport should be encouraged and international laws introduced to control car ownership and use.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The apparition of cars in 1888 made a big change for people. They could go wherever, without the disadvantages of horses or the walk. But now, the number of cars is dramatically important. The countries are finding some ways to reduce this trend. In my opinion, it’s a good idea to try ti find solutions, but it’s not always di in the good way.
First, cars increase the pollution and destroy our earth. Many family have more than one car and use its everyday. Many people use also their car for the commuting, even if that’s in the same city. Therefore, there is a high trafic and cause more pollution too (because of all the stop-and-start).
In addition, papote are almost always alone in their car, but many people drive the same way and don’t know so. There is already a co-driving (like bla-bla-car in France) who people can drive together but I Ean it’s not enough developing. I think people should also speak more together about that. For instance, a lot of people don’t know their neighbors. But they might work in the same city and might drive together.
Furthermore, the states found some alternative fors of transport. I think it’s a good idea because, more yet in cities, there are a couple of common transport to move everywhere, as the subway, the bus or the tram. In addition; the cost isn’t too expansive, even fewer than the car. But people continue to use their car. They found that’s less practice than the car. For instance, the tram is always full after the school. The trams stop to drive at midnight too. So, maybe, with a better organisation from the state, people would use more these alternative transports.
Moreover, to control car ownership and use is a good idea to decrease the using of the car. However, it increase the angry of people and it’s not the better solution. The country should prevent people about the danger fo the planet with some instances, percents, etc.. rather than restrict their use. People have to change their meaning before their behavior. I think it’s the only effective solution.
To conclude, I agree that encourage people to use alternative forms of transport rather than the car is a good solution. But I think that control car ownership and use is not the good way to go. The country should better change the meaning of people before changing their behavior.
