Varies opinions have been expressing when it comes to the issue of whether to choose your own roommates. Some people agree with that we should choose who to live with by ourselves. On the other hand, others suggest that we should let the school decides it for us. My personal experience and actual observation of life lead me to believe that we should not choose our roommates, and several reasons are offered in support of my choice. First, learning to meet and live with different people is an important value that we should learn from school education. School is a small society and it is the place that teaches people how to deal with people from different backgrounds. If people can choose their roommates by themselves, they may pick up their close friends or those who major in the same subject. However, as they do so, they may also miss the great chance to know new friends from different fields, and their life experience may be limilted as well. In the second place, as the school decides your roommates, you don't need to worry about who to choose. If you have many friends in school, it will not be an easy job for you to decide who to live with. Take my personal experience as an example. My good friend, Amy, is a very nice and easy going girl, however, she has may worse habits. Honestly, although we feel happy when we get together, I am not willing to live with her. If my school can decide who are my roommates, I don't need to undergo a lot of pressure if I don't select her. To sum up, although some people may disagree with my statement, I feel my positions are very convincing because they are based on some concrete foundations. Therefore, we can safely lead to the conclusion that we should let the school to choose our roommates, instead of deciding who to live with by ourselves.
