Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing with regard to the membership fees increase, announced last week on the community board. My wife and I have been members of this club since our arrival at this suburb in 1997.

My main concern is that, it is the very first time since I joined it, the membership fees are increased so high, above 10%, normally the increase used to be as maximum as the inflation rate, in fact last year increase was just 7%. In addition to this, 20% is basically too much for the service we are receiving. If the renovation has already been paid and it is taking place, why do we require such a high increase?

I would particularly like to know, if you have some new plans in mind for the book club that might justify this substantial increase, otherwise I strongly recommend you to revise this measure.
