Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say that the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement
To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?

Some people believe that we should place put in more efforts*1 on recycling wastes from home. Some people believe the waste we recycled from homes is not enough and government should (force people to recycle/make recycling compulsory) ?in order to increase recycling. Personally, I agree with this view.
On the one hand(?), I can understand the argument against governments make recycling waste a legal requirement. There are several reasons for this, firstly, it is hard to implement, as staff would be required to manage this complex process. Governments or local councils need to put/plan (?) budget to educate people how to recycle their waste, for example, State budget need to be spent on education, healthcare, infrastructure and security, among other areas. Secondly, citizens would probably just throw their wastes in public areas for avoiding*2 to recycle/ recycling(?) waste, which will make our environment worse.
Although there are some drawbacks of not forcing people to recycle their wastes, I believe that it is more beneficial/better? for us if government make recycling waste a legal requirement. The main reason is that wastes destroy our environment, for example, chemical waste is pumped into rivers and seas kills aquatic life and having a devastating effect on food chains. Those wastes could end up on our plates and harm our health. Another Reason is if governments make recycling waste a compulsory, people would choose product with less packaging so that companies will start to provide product with more efficient packaging. Furthermore, it could also force schools to educate children that there are some negative effects if we do not recycle wastes. School should make (related?) programs for children in order to let them know the importance of recycling waste.
In conclusion, for above reasons, i believe governments should introduce a law/ regulate people’s behavior of how to recycle wastes(?or: regulate people to recycle waste.) in order to create a better life in the future./ in order to achieve a better future.
