There is a debate on the duty of teaching children how to be good members of society belong to the parents or school is widely discussed. In long term perspective, I am in favor of the parents and the school is compulsory to teach the children be good to society to some extent.

To start with the influence of the parents, there is no doubt that the parents are the first teacher of children and the family member they spend most of time to live together before they go to university. In other word, the children will observe their parent’s attitude toward the society and the way they treat people. So the influence from parent should not be neglected. Furthermore, some statics show the children was misleading due to the absence of education from parents. For example, my parents always punished me when I did something wrong, thus I realize how to distinguish the right thing and the wrong thing.

The demerits of lacking sufficient education from school can not be neglected. People always say the school like small society, the children can make friends and learn some techniques from the book and their teachers. So the school play and very important role to teach the children to be good members of society. For example, the teachers will teach the children how to get along with other peoples, how to build correct world view via some school activities.

In conclusion, the parents and the school should work together and teach the children to be good person, it would lead to the society become better.
