I like the Spring Festival best. It’s the first day of the Chinese calendar.

On the eve, everyone cleans the rooms, do the dished, make delicious dumplings, buy firecrackers and gifts. A lot of people who study or work overseas must hope to go back to their hometown at that time.

This is one of my students` e-mail writing task. I told them if they did great, I will hope it online, hope some native speaker will respond to them~

We have a global health problem today : drug development is way too expensive, too long and isn’t efficient enough.

I decided to introduce an article from Labiotech.eu, dealing with Green Technologies, and more precisely with a French start-up named Ynsect, founded in 2011 by Antoine Hubert, a young engineer. He has been awarded with the title of “Innovator Under 35” by the MIT, for his idea to build an insect bio-refinery, using food byproducts to feed insects, and transforming these insects in manufactured products like fish-feed flour.

By 2050, there will be around 2.5 billion people more in the world. Although, today, already 795 million people (around 1/9 of the world’s population) are starving, mostly in Asia and Africa. Every year, malnutrition causes the death of 3.5 million children under 5 years old.
