English

A bit about me

I'm an American EFL teacher (English As a Foreign Language). I live in the Midwest, so you might find my accent to be an easy one to pick up. At least, that's what they say about the Midwestern accent. It's sort of the American standard, I guess. I can also do a pretty good New Yorker, lol. So yea, I've been teaching English conversation for a number of years, so I'm pretty good at using conversations to teach English. I'm looking to improve my Israeli at the moment. I'm hoping to find a conversation partner who has some time to spare these days of the bidud.

Hope

Born at the edge of a new era

One of the most impressive highlights in my generation has been the internet era. Due Internet surged when I was in my twenties, my childhood elapsed under other umbrella. We are the generation who has experimented both worlds.

Even though at the beginning Internet supposed something funny and unexpected, nobody could say how would change our life and our social interactions. Today I would like to discuss if Internet is an element of isolation or connection.

A movie that I didn't really like

As a Christmas present, four years ago, we received two movie tickets and a coupon for popcorn and soda as well. With all the celebrations and parties in December and January, we forgot about it. In February I found that gift in my bag, I read it and luckily I noticed that that day was the last day to pick up the tickets at the cinema, so I invited my husband out that night. The list of movies was very poor and we had to play heads or tails to choose the least bad of the films. It was: “¿Usted no sabe quien soy yo?

Diary (2020-08-10)

A lot of Japanese people have summer holidays in this week. I also have 9-day holidays. I usually spend these days travelling, but I don't do that this year because of COVID-19.

Instead of travelling, I am making a bookshelf in my room. I bought materials and tools yesterday. I am polishing a lot of woods today. It is harder work than I thought.
