Yesterday I was pissed off by a workmate (we are in different departments so I’m not sure if I can use the word “colleague”). We were both serving a client online (or by the internet?) and we only can communicate with each other by an online chat room. Both of us wanted to serve our client well, however, the reason why he made me angry was the way he “reminded” me made me feel unfriendly. I think he was too hasty to make sure everything was all right, but he almost screwed everything up by making me feel nervous because he kept asking me to do the way he want without respecting my opinion. To speak frankly, I was very welcome to receive suggestions from others, but it was the way he conveyed through his typing that let me feel uncomfortable. Also, it was the moment that I realized how important for one to correct his or her words into a polite version. This event urges me to reflect on myself because I used to do that to my friends, too. In order to type faster, I often used few words to convey what I want to say without fixing my tone, which made it look mean sometimes and caused a fight later. However, I choose to forgive him because he taught me how important it is to be polite all the time.
