When I was taking the decision of which major or career path I should follow. I made myself a key question. Do you want to work for a private organization and gain only profit from it? or do you want to put your knowledge and your effort to help others and cooperate to make a better world? Well, I decided, following my heart, that my happiness will be next to social and human services. Since then, I have made as much as I can to continue with this path and I have realized that is the best choice I have never made. I from Colombia and I moved to the US a couple of years ago, and even though I was born in a different place (geographic area), my passion for humanitarian actions have not faded. I see Americorp as an organization where I can put a step toward my dreams. I see Americorp as a place where people from many parts of the world, independent of its nationality, religion, and political believes can be integrated and created a strong network of cooperation and community. A place where civil society can care its neighbors and transform reality for good.   This is the reason why I want to join to Americorps.  

I am sure that joining Americacorp not only I will improve my professional skills, but also  I Will shape myself transforming into a better human being. It is true that I  want to gain expertise and I want to become in better professional developing skills and competencies, but also It is true that I want to have the opportunity to make my professional experience  an alternative to gain consciousness and enlightenment.
