It is almost impossible to find someone who does not have a mobile phone. It is not a matter of being poor or rich, old or young, because having a mobile phone has become a first necessity worldwide as important as to eat. In this essay I am going to discuss whether the use of this technology is for good or it is alienating human beings.
First of all, people seam to have lost their patience. By and large, nobody can wait for the bus without using it. People do not talk to each other live anymore, and it is not difficult to listen someone speaking out and loud in a restaurant or texting messages keeping their eyes in the small screen without realizing that someone else is in front of them, or even worst, next to them and they do not care about their conversation.
Recently, researchers from the University of Pamplona have related the use of mobile phones with some symptoms like headache, anxiety and difficulty to sleep. There is no need to say that mobile phones have some drawbacks, nevertheless a good use of it can help to find people when they are lost or they allow us to keep in touch with our relatives for instance.
In conclusion, like the oncoming new technology, mobile phones were invented to make our life easier, there is no doubt about that. The point is to offer a good education to the people to use them only whenever they need. Some restaurants are banning the use of them, and maybe they are showing us the way to deal with them in some places.
