General definition of the problem.

This research pretends to show the different causes and consequences of child cancer in the United States, because this is a disease that is affecting the population in the country, not only physically but also in a physiological way.

Justification of its importante.

Every day, a lot of children in the United States are diagnosed with a type of cancer.  Fortunately, tahnks to the advances in technology and medicine, the rate of death of kids because of cancer has declined.  Less kids die, but even thoug there are many of them that suffer due to this disease.

Many people have no idea of what cancer is. they think it is only another illness that people have. Sometimes, they even believe tht only adults can have it, ignoring the fact that also kids get sick of this.  What makes this sickness even more complex is that children have not the same body as an adult.  Their bodies react different to the treatments and medicines administrated to grown up people.

If the population are informed of the causes and consequences of childhood cancer, they may understand better why kids are so affected.  It is important to raise awareness among people for protecting children, even their own health.

Cancer can be causes by many factors. For example, genetic disorders, in which kids have no other alternative.  But, it is also inflicted by the enviroment.  When it is caused by agents in the surroundings, it can be avoided, that is why people have to know they can prevent it.  For example, having a good diet, because some foods contain carcinogenic subtances.  Also, the exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun and to the smoke of cigarrettes and drugs can casue disordes in the cells.

Having conscience of this disease, the life of many kid can be saved, which is very important due to the difficult and painful for children and for his/her family.
