The table above shows the national consumer expenditure on different items in five conuntries in 2012. It goes without saying that people spent the most on daily consumable such as food, drinks and tobacco in every country. This kind of spending took up roughly 15 percent in developed countries like Spain, Sweden and Italy but in Turkey and Ireland, the percentage could rise to 32.14 percent and 28.91 percent.
As for clothing and footwear, in most countries, this sort of expenditure occupied arround 6 percent. However, in Italy consumer spents 9 percent of their spending money on this category, which suggest that people in Italy might intend to pursue fashion more than those in other countries.
When it comes to spending on leisure and education, consumers' spending in Turkey accountedfor 4.35 percent. The figures of other countries were all under 4 percent.
In conclusion, food, drinks and tobacco were the most important spending and in different country, the comsumer's spending were quite different.
