This topic is very controversial, since we have seen in the news and in different television programs more and more people against the homework.
Many parents complain about the amount of homework that their kids have to do each day when they get home. Both parents and children are overwhelmed by the volume of tasks that their children have to do every day. Some parents say: “there have been times when after spending many hours doing homework and seeing how tired the little ones are, they have had to do their own children's activities”. At the end of the day, these children are exhausted and feel stress
whether they have not been able to finish the activities.
Too much homework is not helpful, and can be unhealthy. Excessive amounts of time spent on homework can take away from kids’ social lives, family time, and sports or other activities. As a result, children becoming increasingly frustrated and they can leave the school.
From my point of view, homework time must be in accordance with the age of each student. In Primary, the dedication must oscillate between the 30 and 60 minutes and from the following courses to increase progressively the time in Secondary and so on. On the other hand, teachers must take into account that quantity does not mean quality and that sometimes they assign do pointless homework. Therefore, consider the importance to do meaningful and creative homework for the students’ learning.
In conclusion, I must say that homework should not be banned, since they are necessary to understand and reinforce the contents explained in the classroom. The teacher should consider the volume of the duties that assign them and respect the right to have the necessary hours for rest, play and activities appropriate to their age.
