Sociologists have studied the ethnic integration  existing in modern times and one of their main concerns have been why some ethnic groups can merge with the dominant culture better than others. Assimilation is a sociological concept which explains  newcomers or immigrants adopt and assume the behaves, language and cultural values of the dominant community. Contrasting Asian and Latino Communities inside of the US, it is possible to say, using scientific evidence, that Asians have had a better assimilation process than Latinos. For example, using income as a reference, Asian Americans median household income is two times higher than Latinos. Statistics on schooling suggests that the 88% of Asian population have graduated from high school in 2009 and  the 63% belongs to Latino community. Also that 48% of all college graduations in 2009 are from Asia communities and that the 11% are Latinos. Interracial marriage is more frequent between White community and Asian than White and Latino community. Knowing the Asian community are still considered as a minority, they have passed many stigmatisation and prejudice since the first Asian arrival to the US coasts, and I believe that education has reduced the gap between Asian community and mainstream society.  Sociologists believe that racism has a strong connotation that affects the performance of the ethnic integration with the rest of the society. The Latino community suffers from symbolic violence and discrimination along the US territory, and such conditions affect the cultural integration of Latino and Non-Hispanic white group. Stigmatisation, prejudice and discrimination are really strong social mechanisms that control the equal distribution of economic and political benefits among ethnic groups. It is important to recall that many latino immigrants don't have the same educational background of Asian population arriving in the US.
