Dear my mother and father, How are you doing? Now I'm in New York city, which is far away from Tokyo, in the Down Under. It's super cold here though I can't tell the actual temperature because they use the different unit, Fahrenheit. In fact not only the Fahrenheit, they use mile, foot, ounce, pound, and more... It's really confusing. Their culture is totally different from ours and sometimes I felt uncomfortable. The biggest problem is food. Their food is basically too much in everything like its quantity, salt, sugar... I miss Japanese sophisticated food. However, these problems are not big deal. Every American is generous and they often took care of me well. I respect their "hospitality" and am trying to learn now. In return, I want to show my hospitality to foreign travelers in my country, like nice Americans. I also have to say thank you to you, mother and father, for giving me such a nice chance to travel the US. This experience must be my treasure in my life. I got a lot of stimulations in this country and try to connect these dots in my future. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon. When I go back to home, make a good rice and miso-soup for me. I'm dying to eat them. Take care, Riku
