La terra che ci dà la vita è in pericolo. Le nostre azioni, l’uso che facciamo delle risorse naturali stanno mettendo in pericolo l’aria, l’acqua, il suolo, il clima, la varietà degli organismi viventi.

Gli ecosistemi naturali e gli organismi che li formano e li abitano sono alterati e distrutti ad un ritmo crescente. Circa 6 milioni di ettari si trasformano ogni anno in deserto.

Molte foreste tropicali sono distrutti ogni anno per alimentare il mercato del legname tropicale. Per di più i terreni così ottenuti per il pascolo e le colture diventano rapidamente sterili.

Migliaia di specie animali e vegetali si estinguono ogni anno, soprattutto a causa della distruzione degli habitat. Molte di esse scompaiono prima di essere state descritte.

= Earth who gives us life is in danger. Our actions, our use of natural resources are endangering/are putting in danger air, water, soil, the climate and the diversity of living organism.

Natural ecosystems and organisms which inhabit and form them are altered and destroyed at an increasing rate. About 6 million hectares are transformed into deserts every year.

Many tropical forests are destroyed every year to increase the tropical timber market. For most, the land obtained for grazing and cropping are quickly becoming steriles.

Thousands of animal and vegetable species go extinct/disappear every year, above all/mainly because of the habitat’s destruction. Lots/many of them disappear even before been described.
