In the town center a valley lies east and west and the railway runs along. The Edinburgh station is located at the heart of the town center, immediately below the North Bridge. Near the station is Princes Street, the main street of the town where well-known shops stand side by side. You can find an information centre at the plaza by Princes Mall. The railway separates the town into the Old Town to the south and the New Town to the north.
