After watching both videos showed in lesson 1 about how two very different countries and locations live and feel their culture with the food, i would like to talk about my thoughts. In first place, we meet Istanbul and its streets full of people. Although we can feel the hurry and the stress of the big city, with lot of restaurants with the typical kebab to take away, we can observe other kind of food like fried fish and a wide range of delicious sweets. Nevertheless, all of them have something in common. Most of them are done in the traditional way, handmade, and with the original spice ingredients. In the second video, we are placed in a little village in the coast of England, called Mullion Cove. We visited Sophie´s shop, where you can buy just typical English products, but her specialty are cookies. They are cooked with a really ancient recipe however what really grab my attention is they use spice ingredients as ginger to produce sweets and in they do in Turkey! Due to the globalization, we can find in our country, gastronomy from all around the world without leaving our own town. But in my opinion, the taste will never be the same as when you try the recipe in the original country, surrounded by their culture and their people. My conclusion is that every country takes care of their gastronomy as part of their culture and we are coming back to the tradition, valuing the slow and homemade food.
