The chart shows that the number of women that undertook further education rose up between 1970 and 1990 in both full-time and part-time programs. While the number of men in part-time programs decrease, but in full-time, rose too.

In total, it can be seen that the number of women in these programs in the year 1990/91 (approximately 1,300,000) is higher than that of men (approximately 1,100,000). This happens only on years 1990/91, because on 1970/71, the number of men coursing further education careers (approximately 1,100,000) was greater than the number of women (approximately 800,000).

Another interesting aspect is that the number of women in these programs, has always, between 1970/71and 1990/91, increased while the number of men appeared not to vary so much. However, the number of men undertaking full-time programs has increased during this period as well.

The year which the number of women in a full-time program increased drastically was in 1980/81 compared with 1970/71 and the risen in the 1980-1990 decade.
