The Aluxes are maya goblins,  guardian spirits of the earth, they were dolls from the mud, created to be guardians of jungles, harvest and animals, they were placed under a tree where people brought them  offerings like food and water, when the dolls desapeared mayas thought them came alive.  the Aluxes were also created to protect the maya underworld (Xibalbá). Before people entering to the forest, jungles or sanctuarium they had to ask  permision to the Aluxes, if they didn't do that this spirits provoked accidents, diseasses or even natural disasters as they were related with thunders, storms, huracans, etc.
