Lately, we can see on the news how the Government is impeling the health of the citizen and healthy habits. Despite it’s a good idea, maybe they aren’t getting they aim. And the reason is obvious, we have to grow these habits since childhood therefore we need much more time for obtain successful results.
I would like to divide this topic in two essential aspects highly related with health. Diet and physical exercise. These two points have changed much in the last decades.
On the one hand, we have to thank the effort of the government to try that people eat more fruits and vegetables and without doubt it’s a positive attitude, however the quality of our food is worse and worse on the last years and I will give two clear examples. Twenty years ago, if you used to cut a tomato or a pepper you were able to smell it, nowadays you can’t do this, especially if you buy it in a supermarket. Besides, the amount of processed products is growing more and more. And we could say with suspicious composition. Ecological products are an excellent option but unfortunately it isn’t affordable for everyone.
On the other one, the amount of hours that we spend outdoor has decreased, especially if talk about children. With the new electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets or video games we are used to being at home instead of enjoying our sunny weather. Furthermore we watch the idiot box too much.
To sum up and like correct measurements I propose two solutions. Firstly, as regards food I think that we should base our daily diet on local products, since they are healthier and at the same time we are improving our local economy. Secondly, I would change children’s toys and focus on those that involve a physical activity like balls or bicycle.
