The abovementioned phenomenon is quite a relevant one nowadays. There are people who find changes refreshing and they easily get bored when they have to stay at one place for longer time in terms of either workplace or living environment. At the same time, some consider changes scary and demanding and they tend to avoid them if they can, since they are convinced they won’t be able to cope with the struggles new situations hold out.

This difference in people’s attitude towards changes has emerged over the last few decades. Globalisation made us more mobile and it is no longer accepted that a person has only one job until retirement, or that he has never moved from one place to another. However, in the past it was more common to live your life on one certain area and have life-long job at the same company.

There are people who stuck with this latter approach to changes. They feel more secure when everything stays the same and they don’t have to make extra effort to adapt to changes. To some extent I can understand their fear, since nowadays it’s incredibly difficult to find a job and keep it as well. That means if someone has offered a well-paid position, he has to put all his energy to perform well thus later he doesn’t have to think of how he will feed his family. It can be less demanding - especially mentally - than moving to another city or country in order to make a better living.

On the other hand, we should take into consideration that globalisation and modern tools and facilities make us able to move along more quickly and easily. It means new possibilities that help us increase our quality of life.

From my point of view, we should incorporate changes in our lives, because it’s essential feature of our globalised world. Last but not least, changes will make our lives not only more challenging but also more exciting and fulfilling.
