Many of Japanese people today try learning foreign language,especially English. Their motivations of that depend on indivisual people.However, I think , most thinkable motivaton of that is for getting better jobs.Getting good command of English or the other languages,they can take advantage in case of having a bussiness interview.And for this reason, they usually plan to study abroad. It's not bad , of course.Since, to go abroad and make contact with foreign people there can makes their lives more fruitful.But I think, they shouldn't do such thing without any thoughts and just because they want to learn languages.Languages are nothing but " tool" for communicating with foreigners. It's not "purpose".They shouldn't misunderstand it at all  if they learn them for their bright futures.
