Today I want to write about Luis Barragan and particularly about Luis Barragan’s House. Luis Barragan is a Mexican Architect, he was born in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1902. He won The Pritzker prize in 1980, (The Pritzker Prize is for Architect’s like The Nobel Prize is for Scientists). Luis Barragan’s House is in Mexico City in the neighborhood of Tacubaya, and it has been included by UNESCO in it’s World Heritage List. This is the only one private property in Latinoamerica that it’s included in this list. One thing remarkable about his house is that was built in a popular neighborhood surrounded by small, humble houses and yet it follows the guidelines of the environment, it would be indistinguishable if it were not for it’s size. Barragan’s intention was to give his house a personal touch, dividing his house in several areas, each one with distinct characteristics but yet having cohesion at the same time. If you ever come to Mexico City, you shouldn’t miss a visit to his house. You'll never regret it.

P.D. When you see the picture don't you wonder what's inside that has maked this house to deserve such honor?
