Hello, my name is Desirée. I'm learning English and my teacher said methat I should to write an e-mail because she is looking for pen friends who correct our mistakes and make we think in English. She said that we have to write about what we did last weekend. I went to a weeding and I'm going to tell you.
This Saturday I went to a weddding party.I arrived home at 4pm. Here, in Spain we
celebrate the ceremony, after this, we go to a restaurante to have lunch or dinner.
Nowadays, it's cool give a cocktail while the bride and the groom are with the
photographer taking photos. Afther the meal, there is a dancing. In our case, it finished at
4:30pm. Sometimes, the young people go to another place to continue the party.
Exist the tradition that the bride give her bouquet to special women, can be the last
widower, the next bride, the mother, the sister or a very close friend.
When I was a child existed another tradition, some guest cut the groom's tie and the pieces were sold to colect money for the honeymoon.
The godmather- I know that this caracter doesn't exist in British wedding- give us as a
present a kerchief. I can't remenber what was the man's gift.
Are there any special tradition in British weddings?
