I'm a master student in Animal behavior, and with a friend, w have to write a text in English about what we have done during the semester to improve our English skills. Could you help me to correct it ? :)

Here it is :

For the Personal English Project, our main objectives are to improve our oral comprehension and expression skills. For this purpose, we decided to sign on in a web site (languages-exchanges.org) which links people who speak several languages and want to learn other languages. So since few weeks we discuss through the Skype software with people coming from England, United States or even Australia. We are going to help a man who tries to write a poem in French and in exchange we discuss in English the rest of the times. It allows us to improve both of our oral comprehension and expression with different people and accent. However, with the jet lag it is hard sometimes to find time to speak with them, that is why, for now we mostly speak with people coming from England. But, for our personal enrichment we will continue to speak with people coming from other continent on occasion.

             We also watch a lot of different US TV shows during our free time, so to improve our oral comprehension we decide to continue to watch them but without the French subtitles. After each episode we write a summary of what happened. We both watch some shows so after we talk about what we understood, and for shows that only one of us watch, we write a quick summary of what happen in the show and we send it to each other. It allows us to improve our oral comprehension and to learn usual vocabulary.

             During the time we have left we plan to do other things, such as read some scientific publications in connection with our own internships subjects. Most of scientific publications are in English so it will allow us to acquire specialized vocabulary to the fields of science in general but also in relation to our internships subjects and ethology in general, which will help us in our future researches. We will also try to watch some video on the bbc website if we found time in addition to our other studies ‘project that we have to do.
