Organ donation is becoming a multi-million business in some countries due to the very high demand. However, it will lead to a serious problem that individuals, organizations and governments in the developing and industrialized countries are paying much attention on, that is organ trafficking. So, in order to limit and forward to stop this illegal business, some people suggest that organ donation should be compulsory, and this proposition has brought a controversy among concerned groups. According to Van (2015), it is normal and government should issue a law and apply it into the real life because we are just a physical body after death, and such these donations will bring another happy life to many unlucky people in the community. What is more, it also play an important role in preventing organ trafficking on the black market that have happened in some countries. One of example for making the law goes directly into life is that everyone who wants to have a driving license, he or she has to sign the paper that organs in their dead bodies will be used for the need of the community. Some groups of people, especially religious groups in some countries, however, do not agree with this suggestion. They believe that their bodies and spirits belong to God, and keeping their physical bodies intact after death shows their beliefs to the supernatural Creator. Robert states that “No one can destroy the body itself even when they are dead” (Robert, 2014, p.10). In addition, they also agree that fighting against organ trafficking is necessary but forcing people to donate their organs by law is unacceptable. Personally, I feel that in our societies there are still a large number of unlucky people who are suffering from very bad illnesses and their lives are only better if one of parts of their bodies are replaced by the new ones. So, first of all, calling for donation organs from dead people while they are still alive is very important action. The governments around the world also launch campaigns to encourage people willingly to do charity by accepted to donate their bodies for humanitarian purposes. In the long term, a public opinion poll should be carried out (of course it is done separately in each nation), and the result of this survey will tell us the exact public orientation to whether organ donation should be compulsory or not.
