Nowadays, technology has been taking its place in our every day, computers, tablets, mobile phones, the internet is increasingly present in our lives. Whether it is in our inner circle or even in our homes people are spending a good amount of time with some technological device.
Although technology has its negative points, the bottom line is that never in our history we have had so many possibilities to access information and education, and this is only possible because of technology.
Talking about education, we are living in a tricky time which we're still learning as people from the 19th century did. Technology has reached this field though, many books are available with one click in your tablet or whatever device you have in your hands. Does this fact mean we should replace books in our educational institutions?
Personally, I'm really attached with books and the idea of no books is kind of unsettling, I started to read when I was 7 and until now it's something I'm used to. However, thinking rationally, books take up a lot of space, it requires some care, such as, cleaning them and the bookshelves up, organization, when you use it you have to be careful if you want to preserve it, and even with all these cares eventually they will come to an end, plus all expenses. On the other hand, a tablet or a computer can harbor plenty of books without these problems and in the long run this is more rentable, cheap and versatile.
With these points in mind, I'd say it is a clever measure replace books by technological devices, the technology opens up our days and the education should be integrated on it, giving us the possibility to access and learn more.
