Nowadays, the internet takes up most part of our days which consequentially has left the old media on the side. However, it has a lot of influence in people's lives, look around you will almost certainly see a TV set on. Television makes the time goes by faster, it entertains us, people still get their news primarily from TV, so why couldn't television be used as a way to educate?

My own experience says that it can, when I was a kid I remember that every day I would watch at least 2 hours of educational content in the mornings, there was this TV show made up with different video classes about every subject, such as, science, math, mechanics, history, philosophy, literature and so on. In addition, I recall a few cartoons intend to kids that would also teach a couple of things, not just scholastic subjects but some moral principles and some lessons either.

That being said, I believe television has the potential to educate us, even though I don't approve most of the content channels have been producing lately. Moreover, I think is that we get education anyway, I mentioned the internet in the first paragraph and it's an excellent way to reach education, what's more, you get to control when and what you want to learn about at any time just a click away, it is your decision to stand up and go after it.
