So many years ago, about 1804 or 1814 Spain was invaded by French. It was time when Napoleon wanted to be the greatest man in the world. But He had two problems, he wasn't very tall and he hit with the resistance of Cadiz's people.

Cadiz had a big wall around it. When Napoleon's troops arrived to Cádiz, they couldn't go into the city. Cadiz was besieged during several months. Along that time the habitants of Cádiz spent all the potatoes. It was usually eat potatoes omelette at that time.

When potatoes were spent, Cádiz's people started to cook omelette without potatoes and named to this food, French omelette.
