Today I rewatched the movie, The Wild Tales, this time with my family. On IMDB's site, it's in the list of 250 best movies of all time. It consists of five separate stories, each with it's own characters. I want to summarize some of them in the following part:
First story, is about Gabriel Pasternak, a person who has been suffering from psychological problems since his childhood. Even though he doesn't appear on the screen at all, all the characters in the story have been known to him in one way or another in his past. He contrives to get in the same flight all of the people against whom he held a grudge because of what they did to him , and manages to take control of the plane and litterally crash it on his parents.
Third story starts with a guy driving on a highway in a desert country. He drives a expensive and fast car and travels alone. At some point he comes across a slow, old looking car in his line and tries to pass it from it's left but the other driver doesn't let him by driving in front of him whenever he changes his line. After some time he manages to pass him, and while passing he swears and curses to him. After passing this unfriendly stranger he continues driving for some time before he has a flat tire. He pulls over and gets off the car to see which tire needs changing. He gets the tire changing equipment from the trunk and begins. The job is almost done when the stranger he previously cursed appears on the road. He gets on the car trying to look like as everything is ok, fearing the stranger might start a fıght. The stranger pulls over, too and gets off the car as he has anticipated. He's obviously seething with anger and after saying a few words he starts to damage the car. He pulls and takes out the windshield wiper and then, hits the windshield with a crowbar. After that he gets over the car's hood and pees. After venting his spleen, the stranger gets in his car to drive along. The other guy also gets very angry and pushes the strangers car into the river nearby. The river is not so deep, so the stranger achieves to get off the overturned car. The other guy barely escapes the stranger by driving off while the stranger comes to him yelling threats. After going half a mile he turns back to finish the business because he thinks the stranger will find him and cause more trouble unless he isn't taken care of. He tries to drive the car over him a couple of times but can't kill him. At his last try, the not properly screwed in tire comes off, he looses control of the car and it goes into the river, too. Before he can get off the car the stranger gets into it, apparently to kill him. They fight to death and finally the stranger gets the driver belt around the other guys neck and kick him out of the car to strangle him. While the other guy tries to get the belt off his neck, the stranger tears off his shirt's sleeve and stuffs it into the cars fuel tank. When he sets the cloth aflame, the other guy gets the belt off his neck starts pulling the stranger back into the car. The stranger tries to put off the fire but fails. The car explodes and both of them die. The most striking part of the story is in the end, when police officers come to the place. They see the two hugging skeletons and conclude that the incident was a love murder.
There are also three other stories I haven't mentioned here. The movie, over all, deserves it's ranking.
