IELTS - essay: Some people think that making changes in their lives is essential, while others, however, are uncomfortable with change, and prefer to continue living in the same place or working in the same job, etc.

The abovementioned phenomenon is quite a relevant one nowadays. There are people who find changes refreshing and they easily get bored when they have to stay at one place for longer time in terms of either workplace or living environment. At the same time, some consider changes scary and demanding and they tend to avoid them if they can, since they are convinced they won’t be able to cope with the struggles new situations hold out.

IELTS - essay: In many countries today there are many highly qualified graduates without employment. What factors may have caused this situation and what, in your opinion, can/should be done about it?

I was asked to describe my opinion about the high rate of unemployment among university and college graduates.

To tell the truth, it is quite a complex problem that is relevant in numerous countries in the world. In my opinion, it is the responsibility of the given nation’s government to take sufficient steps towards a more advanced education and employment system. With the help of that, they could make balance between demand and supply on the labour market.

IELTS - essay: A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Unfortunately, what is stated above is very accurate nowadays. We care less about what is behind a person’s appearance, including his or her clothes and other marital possessions that show the given person’s status. There are several kinds of status symbols that help us to make quick judgements whether we accept the other person or not.

Judging by the data that we have available, it seems that the emission of the films prepared using the MM machine are blue-shifted when compared with the emission of the films prepared using the Edwards machine. The relative spectral shift is of about 10 nm. The emission of the glass is not so apparent in the case of the samples prepared using the MM machine, probably because these samples have a higher quantum yield.

How are you? I have been trying to obtain new data, but the samples are giving me some problems. We have tried to measure their fluorescence decays using a home-built time-resolved fluorometer, but the signal-to-noise ratio of the decays is extremely low, even for the most luminescent samples. In light of this fact, obtaining fluorescence decays at particular points within the sample seems extremely unlikely. Regarding the confocal images, the signal-to-noise ratio is also quite low.
